The Trails of Apollo book 2 The Dark Prophecy
By Rick Riordan
“Zeus has punished his son Apollo—god of the sun, music, archery, poetry, and more—by casting him down to earth in the form of a gawky, acne-covered sixteen-year-old mortal named Lester. The only way Apollo can reclaim his rightful place on Mount Olympus is by restoring several Oracles that have gone dark. What is affecting the Oracles, and how can Apollo do anything about them without his powers?
After experiencing a series of dangerous—and frankly, humiliating—trials at Camp Half-Blood, Apollo must now leave the relative safety of the demigod training ground and embark on a hair-raising journey across North America. Fortunately, what he lacks in godly graces he’s gaining in new friendships—with heroes who will be very familiar to fans of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Heroes of Olympus series. Come along for what promises to be a harrowing, hilarious, and haiku-filled ride. . . .”
Rick Riordan did it again! . I love Rick Riordan’s books soooooo much. Can’t tell you how many times his books had gotten me out of book slumps. And this sequel was just perfect. Apollo is such a lovable character, his dorkiness and frustrations are so entertaining to read (he is also narcissistic as hell, but what can you expect of the god Apollo lol). Plus Leo is there sooo, need I say more?.. Didn’t think so.
There’s nothing for me to say about Rick Riordan’s books that you don’t already know. But here we go anyway: The character development was great, the plot was interesting, and fulfilling like always and the humoristic way that Rick writes is always the perfect icing on the cake.
I have to admit that as the books progressed I keep waiting for Percy to make an appearance. Oh well. Spoiler alert he doesn’t appear on this one, but we got 3 more books left so we’ll see.
If you haven’t read it go pick it up. I strongly recommend it.
