struck-by-lightning

“Struck By Lightning: The Carson Phillips Journal follows the story of outcast high school senior Carson Phillips, who blackmails the most popular students in his school into contributing to his literary journal to bolster his college application; his goal in life is to get into Northwestern and eventually become the editor of The New Yorker.”

My Review:

Hey! I got something original for you, my lovely reader. An original short story.

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the edge of wisdom, it was the edge of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity…”

lol

Maybe you need to read the book to get that joke. But I was literally, laughing/almost crying when I read that. lol

You know a book is great when you find yourself laughing alone in a public place.

Yeah.

This book will make you do that. lol

Oh my God!!! I loved it so much. It was so freaking funny. Mallory is awesome. She was definitely my favorite character. I love Carson but Mallory, she is my girl. I specially love her writing though, lol.  This book was really on point. I know Carson might be a little annoying and mood-sarcastic at times but I enjoyed his character for what it was, a character. Please, when you read this book don’t try to comper Carson Philip to any other character that Chris Colfer has played in the pas. Cause I’ve seen that a lot on other reviews and is not fair to the book.

Anyways I wasn’t expecting this book to be as funny as it was. Actually I had no expectations when I started it. I just read the description and went for it. And I have to say I wasn’t disappointed.

The ending sucks a little, it feels a little messy, but a part from that the book was great.

This book was great, I strongly recommend it. But you should know that it has a lot of strong language, and some sexual content. (I should do this warning on every book review that I read (mental note) lol)

Btw, while writing this review I discover that there’s a freaking movie about this! What? How come I didn’t know about it? I’m definitely watching this movie later.

Check out movie by clicking here Amazon.com and book here GoodReads.com

I’m definitely making a top 5 or 10 book quotes from this one so be on the lookout for it.
