The Head of Medusa Review!!

Medusa_PQ1 (1)

The epic story of witches, gods, and monsters that USA Today called a “must read” continues in the third book of the Elementals series!

When Nicole Cassidy moved to a new town, she discovered that she was a witch descended from gods. But that was nothing compared to learning that it was up to her and four others with mysterious elemental powers to help save the world from the Titans, who would soon return to Earth.

Now her relationship with Blake — the fire Elemental — is finally heating up. But she must remain focused, because Typhon, one of the deadliest creatures in history, has escaped from the weakening prison world. Only one object can destroy him — the head of Medusa herself.

So here’s the thing this series so far has been a great mix between witches and Greek gods.

It has a pretty good plot with the perfect fast-paced writing that makes you want to keep going. But on this instalment there was a little too much teen-romance. I know! (me, talking to myself lol) Is not that I’m against adventure books having romance (they can’t all be Harry Potter) it’s just that at the beginning of the book is right on your face (well, no freaking duh, you are reading it lol). Now, my problem is not that it starts with it (I don’t like the idea) my problem is that it makes the book feel more like a romance than an adventure. And I have to admit that I did skip a lot of it (gossipy-romantic-blah-blah). But once you’re pass that it’s the great fast-paced-adventure-book/series we all have come to love.

Now here comes the awesome-frustrating-nerve-racking-plot we love, our heroes finally have weapons but that doesn’t mean they are going to work on every monster or Titan. To solve this new obstacle, they are going to need the Head of Medusa and that definitely is not going to be easy to find (unless they talk to Percy lol) This book has a lot of tension in which you will never see any relief because Michelle Madow takes it to the next level giving our characters one of the most frustrating-cliff-hangers ever! Yes! Michelle Madow has shown us how evil she could be. Wow! That’s all I can say.

Go read this book! You’re going to love it!

Excerpt:

“What we’re about to do is scary. Terrifying, even. But we’ve been through things that were just as challenging. We slayed our first monster together in that cave, we escaped the Land of the Lotus Eaters when everyone there was trying to kill us, we blew up one of Scylla’s heads, we slayed the hydra, and we stole the Golden Sword of Athena from a goddess’s ice palace. No matter what challenges we face, we’ve always come out on top. Tonight won’t be any different. We’re the Elementals. We train together, we fight together, and we win together. And don’t any of you ever forget it.”
