Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

By Ransom Riggs

A mysterious island, an abandoned orphanage, a strange collection of curious photographs what more could you possibly want.

My favorites quote from this book:

“They were orphans of war, washed up on that little island in a tide blood”

“He was I suppose my best friend, which is a less pathetic way of saying he was my only friend”

“I had just come to accept that my life would be ordinary when extraordinary things began to happen.”

*Maybe spoilers, maybe not…

A kid who loses his grandfather which is his closest relative. Has a father who is a drunken-almost writer, whose bitter of his wife success. Creates this imaginary world about his grandfather at his age and the adventures he endures with other kids that never grow old because of a spell made by a bird/lady. With lots of awesome pictures. Who ends up killing himself at the end. (this is not a spoiler… or maybe it is. lol)

Okay, this is not what is really about, but you know, to me it is. I don’t know, just read it and let me know if you got the same feel as me.

Anyways this is an awesome story everyone should definitely read. This is the first one of a series, I haven’t read the others, but I’m looking forward to it.

Other books-

Hollow City

The Library of Souls

And a movie is coming out next year.
